The Calendar View by Shift

 

 

The Calendar View by Shift presents scheduling information in a monthly calendar-like format that lists each shift down the leftmost column and the Employee/Position Chooser along the rightmost column. Click on a shift in the shift list to update the calendar contents.

Each cell corresponds to a day in the monthly calendar for a specific shift. Employees' shift assignments and open shift assignments are shown in the cells of the calendar. Multiple shift assignments in a single day are allowed, but if there is any overlap between shift assignments and employee availability, a will be displayed and it is up to you to resolve the conflict.

You can configure the Calendar View by Employee and your settings will be saved until you modify them again. You can also perform many schedule view functions that are common across the schedule views, including the Calendar View by Employee.

Assigning shifts and time off to an employee

Employee's assignments are shown in cells in the Calendar View by Shift. There are four ways to make shift assignments. You can select one or multiple cells. Drag the mouse from the bottom-right corner of a cell to select as many dates as you want to schedule. You can also use the keyboard to select multiple dates by holding down the Shift key and pressing the arrow keys to move around.

  1. Drag an Employee from the Employee Chooser and drop it into a cell.

  2. With cell(s) selected, select an employee in the Employee Chooser, and click Assign.

  3. Right-click cell(s) and click Shift Assignment then Assign Employee.

  4. With cell(s) selected, Click in the menu bar, choosing an employee.

Creating an open shift based on employee position

You can create an open shift on any cell by a similar method to that of assigning specific employees. There are four ways to create an open shift based on an employee position. You can select one or multiple cells. Drag the mouse from the bottom-right corner of a cell to select as many dates as you want to schedule. You can also use the keyboard to select multiple dates by holding down the Shift key and pressing the arrow keys to move around.

  1. Drag a position type from the Position Chooser and drop it into a cell.

  2. With cell(s) selected, select a position type in the Position Chooser, and click Create Open Shift.

  3. Right-click cell(s) and select Create open shift, choosing a position type for the open shift.

  4. Click  next to in the menu bar, and select Create an Open Shift, choosing a position type for the open shift.
